Texas Rangers' Adolis García's Injury Update
In a recent development, Texas Rangers' right fielder Adolis García underwent an MRI on his right forearm following a collision with second baseman Marcus Semien during Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Manager Bruce Bochy provided an optimistic update, stating that the MRI results "came out pretty good."
The collision occurred in the sixth inning when García and Semien both attempted to track down a Taylor Ward pop fly. While Semien seemed more shaken from the impact, Bochy noted that García "took a pretty good shot there from Marcus." Despite the collision, both players remained in the lineup for the entirety of the game, which ended in an extra-innings win for the Rangers.
Bochy expressed optimism about García's condition, mentioning that they are hopeful he will recover quickly. García was initially slated to start as the designated hitter in Sunday's game against the Angels but was ultimately scratched from the lineup after the initial release. Robbie Grossman took his place as the designated hitter, with Travis Jankowski stepping in at right field.
The Rangers' outfield situation, pending García's recovery, is looking positive overall. Rookie Evan Carter returned to start in left field on Sunday after a brief stint on the sidelines due to lower back stiffness. Additionally, rookie Wyatt Langford is progressing well in his rehab from a hamstring strain, as mentioned by Bochy, adding depth and options to the team's lineup. The Rangers will monitor García's progress closely, with an eye on his availability for the upcoming games, including the match against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.
