Texas Wins 2024 Big 12 Rowing Championship
SARASOTA, Fla. - The Texas Longhorns secured their ninth consecutive Conference title at the 2024 Big 12 Rowing Championship held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. This victory marks Texas's 13th win in the last 15 years, demonstrating their dominance in collegiate rowing.
The Longhorns won all five races, finishing with 112 points. Tennessee took the runner-up spot with 98 points, earning silver medals in each race. Alabama rounded out the podium with 76 points and bronze medals in the Third Eight, Second Four, First Four, and First Eight categories. UCF finished fourth with a bronze in the Second Eight and 74 points, followed by Oklahoma (56 points), Kansas State (39 points), Kansas (34 points), and West Virginia (21 points).
The NCAA selection show will stream on Tuesday, May 21, at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT on NCAA.com, where the Conference squads will learn their fates for the NCAA Championship. This championship event is scheduled for May 31-June 2 at East Fork/Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio.
The All-Big 12 Team, selected based on Championship performance, has been announced. Individual honors for Big 12 Rower, Newcomer, and Coach of the Year will be revealed on Thursday, May 23.
